On being asked if she is a feminist (in light of stars such as Shailene Woodley, Lady Gaga, and Kelly Clarkson rejecting the label): “I don’t think they really understood what feminism is. It’s a right. Feminism, to me, is standing up for everything that someone else has already done for you. My mom has overcome so much in her life. She makes me want to stand up for myself. Stand up to the studio heads who try to tell me that I can’t have blonde hair; they want brown hair. Or I need bigger boobs, or I need to work out. Or I’m too skinny, so, like, ‘Eat a cheeseburger.’ I stand up for myself every day of my life. I grew up in a family of four boys. I’m, like, a born feminist. I’ve been a feminist since I was four years old.” - Chloe Grace Moretz

The thing about this is that sculptures like these in art history were for the male gaze. Photoshop a phone to it and suddenly she’s seen as vain and conceited. That’s why I’m 100% for selfie culture because apparently men can gawk at women but when we realize how beautiful we are we’re suddenly full of ourselves…

YES.

Girls don’t let anyone tell you loving yourself is vanity.

“You painted a naked woman because you enjoyed looking at her, put a mirror in her hand and you called the painting “Vanity,” thus morally condemning the woman whose nakedness you had depicted for you own pleasure.” ― John Berger, Ways of Seeing

We’re the generation of women who will teach their sons to act respectfully instead of teaching our daughters to beware

This is everything I stand for.

Narcissa Malfoy is the only known member of Voldemort’s inner circle not to have taken the Dark Mark.  First and foremost a mother, she was ruthless in doing whatever it took to keep her family together; maintaining her status while her husband was imprisoned in Azkaban and later becoming only the third person known to have deceived The Dark Lord.  Narcissa was calm where her sister was crazed, restrained where her husband was reckless and self-assured where her son aimed to prove himself.  Narcissa knew what mattered most and was a key factor in Harry Potter’s survival and Voldemort’s demise.
Narcissa Malfoy is the Head Bitch In Charge.
